Bio:
Judi has been involved in dogs for as long as she can remember, owning a variety of breeds, from toy to working dogs, and from terriers to herding dogs. She started training her own dogs at Joseph’s over 19 years ago. She is involved not only in obedience training, but agility, rally-o, and conformation.
Through the years, Judi has worked in various animal related areas including working at a local boarding kennel as a receptionist and kennel attendant. She has also worked at a local doggie day care facility. This all helped to expand her knowledge of dog care, management, behavior and training. In 2009 she decided to formally pursue dog training as a career at The Animal Behavior College and in September 2010 graduated as a certified dog trainer. In December 2010 she also became a certified trick dog trainer. Judi’s training method is based on positive reinforcement.
Since she started teaching at Joseph’s in January 2011, Judi has had the opportunity to work with Joseph and other trainers, assisting in evaluations, consultations and a variety of classes.
She is currently teaching puppy kindergarten and basic obedience level 1.
Judi owns an 11 yr. old Terrier mix. Peaches has graduated from Level 3 obedience, and has her CGC and an Intermediate trick dog title. Along with Peaches she also has a 1 ½ yr. old Finnish Lapphund. With Denali, Judi is attending agility, obedience, and rally-o classes. Denali also has an intermediate trick dog title and is studying for his CGC and TD. (canine good citizen and therapy dog)
